Cast and blast
Fish in the morning, birds in the afternoon.
I'm Doug Muraki. I own Sunfish Pool Service in Sacramento, and when I'm not running the company I'm on the water or in the field. This is where I keep the trips: what we caught, what we shot, and the pictures to prove it.
Entries go up as I get to them.

What cast and blast means
A cast and blast is a day that starts with a rod and ends with a shotgun. Fish early while the water's quiet, then swap the rod for a gun when the birds start moving. Around here the seasons line up to make it work.
I'm not a guide and I'm not selling anything on this site. It's a journal. If you fish or hunt the same water, you'll probably recognize some of it.
About the guy writing this
I own and run Sunfish Pool Service in Sacramento, full time. Before that I spent twenty years in service work. Fishing and hunting are how I reset.
